Human major histocompatibility complex class I chain-related gene B, MICB ELISA Kit | MICB elisa kit
Human major histocompatibility complex class I chain-related gene B, MICB ELISA Kit
Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human MICB antibody. MICB present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human MICB Antibody is added and binds to MICB in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MICB antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human MICB. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a heavily glycosylated protein which is a ligand for the NKG2D type II receptor. Binding of the ligand activates the cytolytic response of natural killer (NK) cells, CD8 alphabeta T cells, and gammadelta T cells which express the receptor. This protein is stress-induced and is similar to MHC class I molecules; however, it does not associate with beta-2-microglobulin or bind peptides. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]
Uniprot Description
Seems to have no role in antigen presentation. Acts as a stress-induced self-antigen that is recognized by gamma delta T cells. Ligand for the KLRK1/NKG2D receptor. Binding to KLRK1 leads to cell lysis.

Product Notes
The Human MICB micb (Catalog #AAA161121) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA161121 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MICB. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "major histocompatibility complex class I chain-related gene B, MICB, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
