Related Product Information for INHbC elisa kit
Intended Uses: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of INHbC in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.
Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to INHbC. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to INHbC. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain INHbC, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of INHbC in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate a subunit of homodimeric and heterodimeric activin complexes. The heterodimeric complex may function in the inhibition of activin A signaling. Transgenic mice overexpressing this gene exhibit defects in testis, liver and prostate. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2016]
Uniprot Description
Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland. Inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of diverse functions such as hypothalamic and pituitary hormone secretion, gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development or bone growth, depending on their subunit composition. Inhibins appear to oppose the functions of activins.
Product Notes
The Human INHbC inhbc (Catalog #
AAA455359) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA455359 ELISA Kit recognizes Human INHbC.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"Inhibin Beta C (INHbC), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
