Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1 (also known as FGFR1) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human FGFR1 antibody. FGFR1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human FGFR1 Antibody is added and binds to FGFR1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated FGFR1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human FGFR1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Required for normal mesoderm patterning and correct axial organization during embryonic development, normal skeletogenesis and normal development of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neuronal system. Phosphorylates PLCG1, FRS2, GAB1 and SHB. Ligand binding leads to the activation of several signaling cascades. Activation of PLCG1 leads to the production of the cellular signaling molecules diacylglycerol and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate.
