Human Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 6 (EIF6) ELISA Kit
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.
Principle of the Assay: The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to EIF3G. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to EIF3G. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain EIF3G, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of EIF3G in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a eukaryotic translation initiation factor that regulates both ribosome biogenesis and translation, which are rate-limiting factors for cell growth. The encoded protein binds 60S ribosomes and prevents their association with 40S ribosomes. This gene may play a role in oncogenesis as well. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]
Uniprot Description
EIF6: eukaryotic translation initiation factor 6. Binds to the 60S ribosomal subunit and prevents its association with the 40S ribosomal subunit to form the 80S initiation complex.
Protein type: Nucleolus; Translation initiation; Translation
Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; lamin filament; intermediate filament; nucleus

Product Notes
The Human EIF6 eif6 (Catalog #AAA2020780) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2020780 ELISA Kit recognizes Human EIF6. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 6 (EIF6), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
