Intended Uses: This CECR1 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Bovine CECR1. This ELISA kit for research use only!

Principle of the Assay: CECR1 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-CECR1 antibody and an CECR1-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CECR1-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CECR1 concentration since CECR1 from samples and CECR1-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CECR1 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CECR1 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CECR1-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CECR1 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

The product of this gene is a large protein with a CAP-Gly domain typically found in cytoskeleton-associated proteins. The encoded protein primarily localizes to the centrosome, a non-membraneous organelle that functions as the major microtubule-organizing center in animal cells. The encoded protein directly interacts with another large centrosomal protein and is required to anchor microtubules at the centrosome. It is also implicated in the regulation of a class of nuclear hormone receptors in the nucleus. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found, but their full-length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CEP350: Plays an essential role in centriole growth by stabilizing a procentriolar seed composed of at least, SASS6 and CENPJ. Required for anchoring microtubules to the centrosomes and for the integrity of the microtubule network. Recruits PPARA to discrete subcellular compartments and thereby modulates PPARA activity.

Protein type: Cell cycle regulation; Nuclear receptor co-regulator

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q25.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; centrosome; membrane; cytoplasm; spindle

Molecular Function: protein binding; microtubule binding

Product Notes

The Human CEP350 cep350 (Catalog #AAA7226145) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7226145 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CEP350. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "centrosome associated protein 350 (CEP350), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
