Related Product Information for PD-L1/B7-H1 active protein
Recombinant Mouse PD-L1/B7-H1 Protein is produced by HEK293 cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Phe19-Thr238) of mouse PD-L1/B7-H1 (Accession #NP_068693) fused with an Fc, 6×His tag at the C-terminus.
Background: Programmed death-1 ligand-1 (PD-L1, CD274, B7-H1) has been identified as the ligand for the immunoinhibitory receptor programmed death-1(PD1/PDCD1). PD-L1/B7-H1 is expressed by hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells, such as T cells and B cells and various types of tumor cells. PD-L1/B7-H1 is a member of the growing B7 family of immune molecules that has immunoglobulin V-like and C-like domains. Interaction of this ligand with its receptor inhibits T-cell activation and cytokine production. During infection or inflammation of normal tissue, this interaction is important for preventing autoimmunity by maintaining homeostasis of the immune response. In tumor microenvironments, this interaction provides an immune escape for tumor cells through cytotoxic T-cell inactivation. Expression of this gene in tumor cells is considered to be prognostic in many types of human malignancies, including colon cancer and renal cell carcinoma.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is an immune inhibitory receptor ligand that is expressed by hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells, such as T cells and B cells and various types of tumor cells. The encoded protein is a type I transmembrane protein that has immunoglobulin V-like and C-like domains. Mice deficient for this gene display a variety of phenotypes including decreased allogeneic fetal survival rates and severe experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Uniprot Description

CD274: Involved in the costimulatory signal, essential for T- cell proliferation and production of IL10 and IFNG, in an IL2- dependent and a PDCD1-independent manner. Interaction with PDCD1 inhibits T-cell proliferation and cytokine production. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. BTN/MOG family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: cell surface; membrane; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; negative regulation of T cell proliferation; negative regulation of interleukin-10 production; negative regulation of activated T cell proliferation; negative regulation of interferon-gamma production; T cell costimulation; positive regulation of T cell proliferation; immune response; signal transduction; positive regulation of cell migration

Product Notes

The PD-L1/B7-H1 cd274 (Catalog #AAA9144056) is an Active Protein produced from HEK293 cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PD-L1/B7-H1, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
