Related Product Information for HAVCR1 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: The Picokine™ Human HAVCR1 Pre-Coated ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is a solid phase immunoassay specially designed to measure Human HAVCR1 with a 96-well strip plate that is pre-coated with antibody specific for HAVCR1. The detection antibody is a biotinylated antibody specific for HAVCR1. The capture antibody is polyclonal antibody from goat, the detection antibody is polyclonal antibody from goat. The kit contains recombinant Human HAVCR1 with immunogen: Expression system for standard: NSO; Immunogen sequence: S21-T288. The kit is analytically validated with ready to use reagents. To measure Human HAVCR1, add standards and samples to the wells, then add the biotinylated detection antibody. Wash the wells with PBS or TBS buffer, and add Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex (ABC-HRP). Wash away the unbounded ABC-HRP with PBS or TBS buffer and add TMB. TMB is substrate to HRP and will be catalyzed to produce a blue color product, which changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of the yellow product is linearly proportional to Human HAVCR1 in the sample. Read the density of the yellow product in each well using a plate reader, and benchmark the sample wells' readings against the standard curve to determine the concentration of Human HAVCR1 in the sample.

Background/Introduction: KIM1(TIM-1), also known as Hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 1, is a protein that in Rats is encoded by the HAVCR1 gene. Infection of canine osteogenic sarcoma cells expressing HAVCR1 with HAV led to conclude that the protein is indeed a receptor for the virus. Immunofluorescence microscopy demonstrated internalization of HAV by dog cells expressing HAVCR1. Using a monoclonal antibody to Rat Tim1, Tim1 was expressed after activation of naive T cells and on T cells differentiated in Th2-polarizing conditions. By homology of synteny with the Rat Tim1 gene and database analysis, the HAVCR1 gene was mapped to 5q33.2.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a membrane receptor for both human hepatitis A virus (HHAV) and TIMD4. The encoded protein may be involved in the moderation of asthma and allergic diseases. The reference genome represents an allele that retains a MTTVP amino acid segment that confers protection against atopy in HHAV seropositive individuals. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Uniprot Description

TIM-1: May play a role in T-helper cell development and the regulation of asthma and allergic diseases. Receptor for TIMD4. In case of human hepatitis A virus (HHAV) infection, functions as a cell-surface receptor for the virus. May play a role in kidney injury and repair. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. TIM family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q33.2

Cellular Component: integral to membrane

Molecular Function: viral receptor activity

Biological Process: entry of virus into host cell

Disease: Ige Responsiveness, Atopic

Product Notes

The Human HAVCR1 havcr1 (Catalog #AAA175815) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA175815 ELISA Kit recognizes Human HAVCR1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KIM1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
