Related Product Information for Eogt recombinant protein
Description: EOGT produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 516 amino acids (20-527 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 60.4kDa (Migrates at 50-70kDa on SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions). EOGT is expressed with an 8 amino acid His tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Introduction: EGF Domain-Specific O-Linked N-Acetylglucosamine Transferase (EOGT) takes part in the regulation of Notch receptor. EOGT catalyzes the transfer of a single N-acetylglucosamine from UDP-GlcNAc to a serine/ threonine residue in extracellular proteins resulting in their modification with a beta-linked N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc). EOGT mainly glycosylates the Thr residue positioned between the fifth and sixth conserved cysteines of folded EGF-like domains.

Uniprot Description

AER61: Catalyzes the transfer of a single N-acetylglucosamine from UDP-GlcNAc to a serine or threonine residue in extracellular proteins resulting in their modification with a beta-linked N- acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc). Specifically glycosylates the Thr residue located between the fifth and sixth conserved cysteines of folded EGF-like domains. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 61 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 2.4.1.255; Transferase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6|6 D3

Molecular Function: protein N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase activity

Biological Process: metabolic process; protein amino acid O-linked glycosylation

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EGF Domain-Specific O-Linked N-Acetylglucosamine Transferase, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
