Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized TNFRSF12A in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Biological Activity
The TNFRSF12A biological activity is determined by its ability to inhibit TWEAK-induced weak cell death of HT29 cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is 1.0-5.0ug/ml in the presence of 1ug/ml rhTWEAK.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized TNFRSF12A although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. Upon reconstitution TNFRSF12A should be stored at 4 degree C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18 degree C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Uniprot Description

TweakR: Receptor for TNFSF12/TWEAK. Weak inducer of apoptosis in some cell types. Promotes angiogenesis and the proliferation of endothelial cells. May modulate cellular adhesion to matrix proteins. Associates with TRAF1 and TRAF2, and probably also with TRAF3. By FGF1 and phorbol ester. Highly expressed in heart, placenta and kidney. Intermediate expression in lung, skeletal muscle and pancreas. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, misc.; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cell development/differentiation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16p13.3

Cellular Component: ruffle; cell surface; plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: substrate-bound cell migration, cell attachment to substrate; positive regulation of apoptosis; positive regulation of axon extension; angiogenesis; regulation of angiogenesis

Product Notes

The TNFRSF12A tnfrsf12a (Catalog #AAA145232) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: EQAPGTAPCS RGSSWSADLD KCMDCASCRA RPHSDFCLGC AAAPPAPFRL LWP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TNF Ligand Receptor Superfamily, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
