Related Product Information for PPIL2 active protein
Description: PPIL2 Human Recombinant fused to 20 amino acid His Tag at N-terminal produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 547 amino acids (1-527 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 61.6 kDa. The PPIL2 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Introduction: PPIL2 is part of the cyclophilin family of peptidylprolyl isomerases which are highly conserved ubiquitous proteins that play an important role in protein folding, immunosuppression by cyclosporin A, and infection of HIV-1 virions. PPIL2 interacts with the proteinase inhibitor eglin c and is localized in the nucleus. PPIL2 increases folding of proteins andcatalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the cyclophilin family of peptidylprolyl isomerases. The cyclophilins are a highly conserved ubiquitous family, members of which play an important role in protein folding, immunosuppression by cyclosporin A, and infection of HIV-1 virions. This protein interacts with the proteinase inhibitor eglin c and is localized in the nucleus. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PPIL2: a peptidylprolyl isomerase (PPIase) of the cyclophilin-type family. PPIases accelerate the folding of proteins by catalyzing the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds. Two alternatively-spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Ligase; Cyclophilin; Ubiquitin conjugating system; EC 5.2.1.8; Spliceosome; Ubiquitin ligase; Isomerase

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Peptidylprolyl Isomerase, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
