Related Product Information for IL-1F1 active protein
IL-1 consists of two distinct forms, IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta which perform the same functions but are distinct proteins. IL-1alpha is a pleiotropic cytokine involved in various immune responses, inflammatory processes, and hematopoiesis. This cytokine is also temporarily upregulated during bone formation and the menstrual cycle and can be induced in response to nervous system stimulation. Recombinant human IL-1alpha was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This cytokine is a pleiotropic cytokine involved in various immune responses, inflammatory processes, and hematopoiesis. This cytokine is produced by monocytes and macrophages as a proprotein, which is proteolytically processed and released in response to cell injury, and thus induces apoptosis. This gene and eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2. It has been suggested that the polymorphism of these genes is associated with rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer's disease. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

IL1A: Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. Belongs to the IL-1 family.

Product Notes

The IL-1F1 il1a (Catalog #AAA201129) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 113-271aa. AAA Biotech's IL-1 alpha /IL-1F1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Bioactivity. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL-1F1 il1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MRGSHHHHHH GMASMTGGQQ MGRDLYDDDD KDRWGSHM SA PFSFLSNVKY NFMRIIKYEF ILNDALNQSI IRANDQYLTA AALHNLDEAV KFDMGAYKSS KDDAKITVIL RISKTQLYVT AQDEDQPVLL KEMPEIPKTI TGSETNLLFF WETHGTKNYF TSVAHPNLFI ATKQDYWVCL AGGPPSITDF QILENQA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-1 alpha /IL-1F1, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
