NCBI Description

cell surface receptor for adenovirus and coxsackie virus; may be a barrier for macromolecule and ion movement across membranes in polarized epithelial cells [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

CXADR: a component of the epithelial apical junction complex that is essential for the tight junction integrity. Proposed to function as a homophilic cell adhesion molecule. Recruits MPDZ to intercellular contact sites. Probably involved in transepithelial migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) through adhesive interactions with AMICA1 located in the plasma membrane of PMN.

Protein type: Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, misc.

Cellular Component: acrosome; adherens junction; apicolateral plasma membrane; basolateral plasma membrane; cell junction; cell surface; cytoplasm; extracellular space; filopodium; growth cone; integral to membrane; intercellular junction; lipid raft; neuromuscular junction; neuron projection; nucleoplasm; nucleus; plasma membrane; protein complex; tight junction

Molecular Function: beta-catenin binding; cell adhesion molecule binding; identical protein binding; integrin binding; PDZ domain binding; receptor binding; viral receptor activity

Biological Process: actin cytoskeleton reorganization; cardiac muscle fiber development; cell-cell adhesion; defense response to virus; entry of virus into host cell; gamma-delta T cell activation; germ cell migration; heart development; heterophilic cell adhesion; homotypic cell-cell adhesion; intercellular junction assembly and maintenance; mitochondrion organization and biogenesis; negative regulation of cardiac muscle cell proliferation; neutrophil chemotaxis

Product Notes

The Rat Cxadr cxadr (Catalog #AAA2886569) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2886569 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat Cxadr. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Coxsackievirus and adenovirus receptor, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
