Recombinant Mouse C-Reactive Protein
CRP solution (0.5mg/1ml) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH8.0), 1mM DTT, 0.1M PMSF and 40% glycerol.
Store, frozen at -20 degree C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
CRP Mouse Recombinant produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 214 amino acids (20-225 a. A) and having a molecular mass of 24.1 kDa.
CRP is fused to a 8 amino acid His-tag at C-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

CRP: Displays several functions associated with host defense: it promotes agglutination, bacterial capsular swelling, phagocytosis and complement fixation through its calcium-dependent binding to phosphorylcholine. Can interact with DNA and histones and may scavenge nuclear material released from damaged circulating cells. Belongs to the pentaxin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
