Phenomenon explanation
The possible reasons that the actual band size differs from the predicted are as follows:
1. Splice variants: Alternative splicing may create different sized proteins from the same gene.
2. Relative charge: The composition of amino acids may affects the charge of the protein.
3. Post-translational modification: Phosphorylation, glycosylation, methylation etc.
4. Post-translation cleavage: Many proteins are synthesized as pro-proteins, and then cleaved to give the active form.
5. Polymerization of the target protein: Dimerization, multimerization etc.
Usage
Reconstitute in 20mM Tris, 150mM NaCl (pH8.0) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.
Preparation and Storage
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 2-8ºC for one month.
Aliquot and store at -80ºC for 12 months.

Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Uniprot Description

CRP: Displays several functions associated with host defense: it promotes agglutination, bacterial capsular swelling, phagocytosis and complement fixation through its calcium-dependent binding to phosphorylcholine. Can interact with DNA and histones and may scavenge nuclear material released from damaged circulating cells. Belongs to the pentaxin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Cellular Component: extracellular space; growth cone; extracellular region; filopodium

Molecular Function: protein homodimerization activity; low-density lipoprotein receptor binding; complement component C1q binding; metal ion binding; low-density lipoprotein binding; cholesterol binding; calcium ion binding

Biological Process: protein polymerization; positive regulation of nitric oxide biosynthetic process; negative regulation of vasodilation; wound healing; positive regulation of superoxide release; acute-phase response; negative regulation of superoxide release; complement activation, classical pathway

Product Notes

The CRP crp (Catalog #AAA2009439) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E. coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's C Reactive Protein (CRP) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Positive Control; Immunogen; SDS-PAGE; Western Blot (WB). (May be suitable for use in other assays to be determined by the end user.). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CRP crp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: HEDMFKKAFV FPKESDTSYV SLEAESKKPL NTFTVCLHFY TALSTVRSFS VFSYATKKNS NDILIFWNKD KQYTFGVGGA EVRFMVSEIP EAPTHICASW ESATGIVEFW IDGKAKVRKS LHKGYTVGPD ASIILGQEQD SYGGDFDAKQ SLVGDIGDVN MWDFVLSPEQ INTVYVGGTL SPNVLNWRAL NYKAQGDVFI KPQLWS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "C Reactive Protein (CRP), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
