Related Product Information for CCL2 recombinant protein
Introduction: Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2) is a small cytokine belongs to the CC chemokine family which is also known as monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1). MCP 1 is found at the site of tooth eruption and bone degradation. In the bone, CCL2 is expressed by mature osteoclasts. CCL2 recruits immune cells, such as monocytes, to sites of tissue injury and infection. MCP 1is produced as a protein precursor containing signal peptide of 23 amino acids and a mature peptide of 76 amino acids. As with many other CC chemokines, CCL2 is located on chromosome 17 in humans. The cell surface receptors that bind CCL2 are CCR2 and CCR5.
Description: MCP1 Rat Recombinant produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 134 amino acids (24-148 aa) and having a molecular mass of 15.1kDa.
MCP1 is fused to a 6 amino acid His tag at C-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

NCBI Description

a monocyte chemoattractant protein [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

CCL13: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. Signals through CCR2B and CCR3 receptors. Plays a role in the accumulation of leukocytes at both sides of allergic and non-allergic inflammation. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis. May play a role in the monocyte attraction in tissues chronically exposed to exogenous pathogens. By IL1/interleukin-1 and TNF. Widely expressed. Found in small intestine, thymus, colon, lung, trachea, stomach and lymph node. Low levels seen in the pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Product Notes

The CCL2 ccl2 (Catalog #AAA147321) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9, Baculovirus cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: ADPQPDAVNA PLTCCYSFTG KMIPMSRLEN YKRITSSRCP KEAVVFVTKL KREICADPNK EWVQKYIRKL DQNQVRSETT VFYKIASTLR TSAPLNVNLT HKSEANASTL FSTTTSSTSV EVTSMTENHH HHHH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Monocyte Chemotactic Protein-1 (CCL2), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
