Sequence Length
874
Cellular Location
Nucleus
Tissue Location
Expressed in most tissues, with highest levels in lung, followed by heart, kidney, brain and liver. Predominantly expressed in endothelial cells. Also found in smooth muscle cells of the uterus, neurons, and brown adipose tissue. High expression in embryonic choroid plexus and kidney glomeruli
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for Epas1 blocking peptide
Transcription factor involved in the induction of oxygen regulated genes. Binds to core DNA sequence 5'-[AG]CGTG-3' within the hypoxia response element (HRE) of target gene promoters. Regulates the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression and seems to be implicated in the development of blood vessels and the tubular system of lung. May also play a role in the formation of the endothelium that gives rise to the blood brain barrier. Potent activator of the Tie-2 tyrosine kinase expression. Activation requires recruitment of transcriptional coactivators such as CREBPB and probably EP300. Interaction with redox regulatory protein APEX seems to activate CTAD (By similarity).

Uniprot Description

HIF2A: Transcription factor involved in the induction of oxygen regulated genes. Activation seems to require recruitment of transcriptional coactivators such as CREBPB and probably EP300. Interaction with redox regulatory protein APEX seems to activate CTAD. Efficient DNA binding requires dimerization with another bHLH protein. Heterodimerizes with ARNT. Interacts with CREBBP. Interacts with EGLN1. Interacts with VHL. Expressed in most tissues, with highest levels in placenta, lung and heart. Selectively expressed in endothelial cells.

Product Notes

The Epas1 epas1 (Catalog #AAA9230152) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Epas1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
