Related Product Information for eIF3zeta blocking peptide
Translation initiation in eukaryotes necessitates the assembly of an 80S ribosomal complex containing methionyl initiator tRNA (Met-tRNAiMet), which is base paired at the initiation codon (AUG, GUG) in eligible transcripts. Eukaryotic initiation factors (eIFs) are utilized in a sequence of reactions that leads to 80S ribosomal assembly and initiation of translation. Eukaryotic initiation factor 3 (eIF3) is the largest family of eIFs and consists of at least 12 unique subunits in mammals. eIFepsilon, also known as eIF p47, binds to the 40S ribosome and promotes the binding of methionyl-tRNAi and mRNA and associates with the complex p170-eIF3.

NCBI Description

Eukaryotic translation initiation factor-3 (eIF3), the largest of the eIFs, is a multiprotein complex composed of at least ten nonidentical subunits. The complex binds to the 40S ribosome and helps maintain the 40S and 60S ribosomal subunits in a dissociated state. It is also thought to play a role in the formation of the 40S initiation complex by interacting with the ternary complex of eIF2/GTP/methionyl-tRNA, and by promoting mRNA binding. The protein encoded by this gene is the major RNA binding subunit of the eIF3 complex. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

eIF3-zeta: eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit 7. Binds to the 40S ribosome and promotes the binding of methionyl-tRNAi and mRNA. Associates with the subunit p170 of eIF-3. eIF-3 is composed of at least 12 different subunits.

Product Notes

The eIF3zeta eif3d (Catalog #AAA3004386) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's eIF3zeta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Blocking. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the eIF3zeta eif3d for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "eIF3zeta, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
