Related Product Information for ATPIF1 recombinant protein
ATPase inhibitory factor 1, also known as ATPIF1, binds to the C-terminal region of a beta subunit of the F1-ATPase at low pH values and, via interference of the beta and gamma subunit interaction, ATPIF1 regulates the activity of the F1 (the hydrophilic catalytic core), F0 (the membrane embedded protein channel) ATPase. The overexpression of ATPIF1 in several human carcinomas further supports its participation in oncogenesis and provides insight into the altered metabolism of cancer cells, which includes the reprogramming of energetic metabolism toward glycolysis. Recombinant human ATPIF1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a mitochondrial ATPase inhibitor. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and three transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Endogenous F1F(o)-ATPase inhibitor limiting ATP depletion when the mitochondrial membrane potential falls below a threshold and the F1F(o)-ATP synthase starts hydrolyzing ATP to pump protons out of the mitochondrial matrix. Required to avoid the consumption of cellular ATP when the F1F(o)-ATP synthase enzyme acts as an ATP hydrolase. Indirectly acts as a regulator of heme synthesis in erythroid tissues: regulates heme synthesis by modulating the mitochondrial pH and redox potential, allowing FECH to efficiently catalyze the incorporation of iron into protoporphyrin IX to produce heme.

Product Notes

The ATPIF1 atpif1 (Catalog #AAA204583) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's ATPIF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATPIF1 atpif1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSHMGSDQS ENVDRGAGSI REAGGAFGKR EQAEEERYFR AQSREQLAAL KKHHEEEIVH HKKEIERLQK EIERHKQKIK MLKHDD. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATPIF1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
