Apolipoprotein C3 (APOC3) Recombinant Protein | APOC3 recombinant protein
Recombinant Apolipoprotein C3 (APOC3)
1. Splice variants: Alternative splicing may create different sized proteins from the same gene.
2. Relative charge: The composition of amino acids may affects the charge of the protein.
3. Post-translational modification: Phosphorylation, glycosylation, methylation etc.
4. Post-translation cleavage: Many proteins are synthesized as pro-proteins, and then cleaved to give the active form.
5. Polymerization of the target protein: Dimerization, multimerization etc.
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 2-8 degree C for one month.
Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test:
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Accurate Molecular Mass: 21kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE reducing conditions.
NCBI Description
This gene encodes an apolipoprotein which is the major protein component of very-low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) and a minor component of high-density lipoproteins (HDL). The encoded protein is thought to regulate the metabolism of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and play a role in lipid storage and the mobilization of fat cells. This gene is clustered with three other apolipoprotein genes on chromosome 9 and is associated with coronary disease. Mice lacking this gene have lower levels of total cholesterol in the plasma. Mutations in the human genes causes hyperalphalipoproteinemia 2, a disorder of lipid metabolism which results in a favorable lipid profile (lower LDL-cholesterol, higher HDL-cholesterol and lower levels of serum triglycerides when fasting and after a meal). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]
Uniprot Description
APOC3: Inhibits lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase and decreases the uptake of lymph chylomicrons by hepatic cells. This suggests that it delays the catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles. Defects in APOC3 are the cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia type 2 (HALP2). HALP2 is a condition characterized by high levels of high density lipoprotein (HDL) and increased HDL cholesterol levels. Belongs to the apolipoprotein C3 family.

AAA Biotech's Apolipoprotein C3 (APOC3) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Positive Control; Immunogen; SDS-PAGE; Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the APOC3 apoc3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: EEVEGSLLLG SVQGYMEQAS KTVQDALSSV QESDIAVVAR GWMDNHFRFL KGYWSKFTDK FTGFWDSNPE DQPTPAIES. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Apolipoprotein C3 (APOC3), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
