Sheep Atrial natriuretic peptide receptor 3 ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: NPR3 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-NPR3 antibody and an NPR3-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with NPR3-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the NPR3 concentration since NPR3 from samples and NPR3-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-NPR3 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by NPR3 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind NPR3-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The NPR3 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes one of three natriuretic peptide receptors. Natriutetic peptides are small peptides which regulate blood volume and pressure, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiac function as well as some metabolic and growth processes. The product of this gene encodes a natriuretic peptide receptor responsible for clearing circulating and extracellular natriuretic peptides through endocytosis of the receptor. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]
Uniprot Description
ANP-C: Receptor for the natriuretic peptide hormones, binding with similar affinities atrial natriuretic peptide NPPA/ANP, brain natriuretic peptide NPPB/BNP, and C-type natriuretic peptide NPPC/CNP. May function as a clearance receptor for NPPA, NPPB and NPPC, regulating their local concentrations and effects. May regulate diuresis, blood pressure and skeletal development. Does not have guanylate cyclase activity. Belongs to the ANF receptor family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5p13.3
Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane
Molecular Function: protein homodimerization activity; hormone binding; natriuretic peptide receptor activity; peptide hormone binding; peptide receptor activity, G-protein coupled
Biological Process: regulation of osteoblast proliferation; phosphoinositide-mediated signaling; negative regulation of smooth muscle cell proliferation; positive regulation of nitric-oxide synthase activity; regulation of blood pressure; negative regulation of adenylate cyclase activity; G-protein signaling, coupled to IP3 second messenger (phospholipase C activating); G-protein signaling, adenylate cyclase inhibiting pathway; pancreatic juice secretion; skeletal development

Product Notes
The Sheep ANPR-C 3 npr3 (Catalog #AAA744544) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA744544 ELISA Kit recognizes Sheep ANPR-C 3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Atrial natriuretic peptide receptor 3, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
