Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for MERTK elisa kit
Description: This Mouse Tyrosine-protein kinase Mer (MERTK) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MERTK in samples. An antibody specific for MERTK has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any MERTK present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MERTK is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MERTK bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: MERTK is a member of the MER/AXL/TYRO3 receptor kinase family and encodes a transmembrane protein with two fibronectin type-III domains, two Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains, and one tyrosine kinase domain. Mutations in MERTK have been associated with disruption of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) phagocytosis pathway and onset of autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa (RP).

Uniprot Description

Mer: a proto-oncogene receptor tyrosine-protein kinase of the Axl family. Binds several ligands including LGALS3, Tubby, TULP1 or GAS6. Regulates many physiological processes including cell survival, migration, differentiation, and phagocytosis of apoptotic cells (efferocytosis). Functions in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) as a regulator of rod outer segments fragments phagocytosis. Plays also an important role in inhibition of Toll-like receptors (TLRs)-mediated innate immune response by activating STAT1, which selectively induces production of suppressors of cytokine signaling SOCS1 and SOCS3

Protein type: EC 2.7.10.1; Protein kinase, tyrosine (receptor); Protein kinase, TK; Oncoprotein; Membrane protein, integral; Kinase, protein; TK group; Axl family

Cellular Component: extracellular space; photoreceptor outer segment; membrane; cell; cytoplasm; integral to membrane; intracellular

Molecular Function: transferase activity; protein-tyrosine kinase activity; transferase activity, transferring phosphorus-containing groups; nucleotide binding; kinase activity; transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase activity; ATP binding; protein kinase activity

Product Notes

The Mouse MERTK mertk (Catalog #AAA9717664) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9717664 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse MERTK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tyrosine-Protein Kinase Mer (MERTK), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
