Related Product Information for Mer recombinant protein
Mer, also known as Tyrosine-protein kinase Mer, is one of the receptor tyrosine kinase that transduces signals from the extracellular matrix into the cytoplasm. It regulates many physiological processes including cell survival, migration, differentiation, and phagocytosis of apoptotic cells. This protein plays a role in various processes such as macrophage clearance of apoptotic cells, platelet aggregation, cytoskeleton reorganization and engulfment. Mutations in this protein have been associated with disruption of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) phagocytosis pathway and onset of autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa (RP). Recombinant mouse Mer, fused to hIgG-His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Uniprot Description

Mer: a proto-oncogene receptor tyrosine-protein kinase of the Axl family. Binds several ligands including LGALS3, Tubby, TULP1 or GAS6. Regulates many physiological processes including cell survival, migration, differentiation, and phagocytosis of apoptotic cells (efferocytosis). Functions in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) as a regulator of rod outer segments fragments phagocytosis. Plays also an important role in inhibition of Toll-like receptors (TLRs)-mediated innate immune response by activating STAT1, which selectively induces production of suppressors of cytokine signaling SOCS1 and SOCS3

Protein type: EC 2.7.10.1; Protein kinase, tyrosine (receptor); Protein kinase, TK; Oncoprotein; Membrane protein, integral; Kinase, protein; TK group; Axl family

Cellular Component: extracellular space; photoreceptor outer segment; membrane; cell; cytoplasm; integral to membrane; intracellular

Molecular Function: transferase activity; protein-tyrosine kinase activity; transferase activity, transferring phosphorus-containing groups; nucleotide binding; kinase activity; transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase activity; ATP binding; protein kinase activity

Product Notes

The Mer mertk (Catalog #AAA201171) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 19-497aa. AAA Biotech's Mer can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Mer mertk for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: GGTAEKWEET ELDQLFSGPL PGRLPVNHRP FSAPHSSRDQ LPPPQTGRSH PAHTAAPQVT STASKLLPPV AFNHTIGHIV LSEHKNVKFN CSINIPNTYQ ETAGISWWKD GKELLGAHHS ITQFYPDEEG VSIIALFSIA SVQRSDNGSY FCKMKVNNRE IVSDPIYVEV QGLPYFIKQP ESVNVTRNTA FNLTCQAVGP PEPVNIFWVQ NSSRVNEKPE RSPSVLTVPG LTETAVFSCE AHNDKGLTVS KGVHINIKVI PSPPTEVHIL NSTAHSILVS WVPGFDGYSP LQNCSIQVKE ADRLSNGSVM VFNTSASPHL YEIQQLQALA NYSIAVSCRN EIGWSAVSPW ILASTTEGAP SVAPLNITVF LNESNNILDI RWTKPPIKRQ DGELVGYRIS HVWESAGTYK ELSEEVSQNG SWAQIPVQIH NATCTVRIAA ITKGGIGPFS EPVNIIIPEH SKVDYAPSST PAPGNTDSM< L EPKSCDKTHT CPPCPAPELL GGPSVFLFPP KPKDTLMISR TPEVTCVVVD VSHEDPEVKF NWYVDGVEVH NAKTKPREEQ YNSTYRVVSV LTVLHQDWLN GKEYKCKVSN KALPAPIEKT ISKAKGQPRE PQVYTLPPSR DELTKNQVSL TCLVKGFYPS DIAVEWESNG QPENNYKTTP PVLDSDGSFF LYSKLTVDKS RWQQGNVFSC SVMHEALHNH YTQKSLSLSP GKHHHHHH>. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Mer, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
