Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for TNFSF14 elisa kit
Description: This Mouse Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 14 (TNFSF14) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TNFSF14 in samples. An antibody specific for TNFSF14 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any TNFSF14 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TNFSF14 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TNFSF14 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 14 is a protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This protein is a ligand for TNFRSF14, which is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, and which is also known as a herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM). This protein may function as a costimulatory factor for the activation of lymphoid cells and as a deterrent to infection by herpesvirus. This protein has been shown to stimulate the proliferation of T cells, and trigger apoptosis of various tumor cells. This protein is also reported to prevent tumor necrosis factor alpha mediated apoptosis in primary hepatocyte. Two alternatively spliced transcript variant encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

Uniprot Description

TNFSF14: Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF3/LTBR. Binding to the decoy receptor TNFRSF6B modulates its effects. Activates NFKB, stimulates the proliferation of T-cells, and inhibits growth of the adenocarcinoma HT-29. Acts as a receptor for Herpes simplex virus. Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytokine; Inhibitor; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: extracellular space; membrane; integral to membrane; extracellular region; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: caspase inhibitor activity; cytokine activity; tumor necrosis factor receptor binding; receptor binding

Biological Process: release of cytoplasmic sequestered NF-kappaB; T cell costimulation; immune response; negative regulation of caspase activity; positive regulation of myoblast differentiation

Product Notes

The Mouse TNFSF14 tnfsf14 (Catalog #AAA9716725) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9716725 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse TNFSF14. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tumor Necrosis Factor Ligand Superfamily Member 14 (TNFSF14), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
