Related Product Information for anti-FHOD1 antibody
Function: Required for the assembly of F-actin structures, such as stress fibers. Depends on the Rho-ROCK cascade for its activity. Contributes to the coordination of microtubules with actin fibers and plays a role in cell elongation. Acts synergistically with ROCK1 to promote SRC-dependent non-apoptotic plasma membrane blebbing.

Post Translational Modifications: Phosphorylated by ROCK1.

Subcellular Location: Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm>Cytoskeleton. Cell projection>Bleb. Note: Predominantly cytoplasmic.

Tissue Specificity: Ubiquitous. Highly expressed in spleen.

Subunit Structure: Self-associates via the FH2 domain. Binds to F-actin via its N-terminus. Binds to the cytoplasmic domain of CD21 via its C-terminus. Interacts with ROCK1 in a Src-dependent manner.

Similarity: The DAD domain regulates activation via by an autoinhibitory interaction with the GBD/FH3 domain. This autoinhibition is released upon competitive binding of an activated GTPase. The release of DAD allows the FH2 domain to then nucleate and elongate nonbranched actin filaments.Belongs to the formin homology family.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein which is a member of the formin/diaphanous family of proteins. The gene is ubiquitously expressed but is found in abundance in the spleen. The encoded protein has sequence homology to diaphanous and formin proteins within the Formin Homology (FH)1 and FH2 domains. It also contains a coiled-coil domain, a collagen-like domain, two nuclear localization signals, and several potential PKC and PKA phosphorylation sites. It is a predominantly cytoplasmic protein and is expressed in a variety of human cell lines. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]

Product Notes

The FHOD1 fhod1 (Catalog #AAA9612475) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FHOD1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse Predicted Reactivity: Pig(100%), Bovine(100%), Horse(100%), Sheep(100%), Rabbit(100%), Dog(100%), Xenopus(86%) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FHOD1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 ELISA(peptide): 1:20,000-1:40,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FHOD1 fhod1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FHOD1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
