Related Product Information for anti-FMN2 antibody
Description: Required for asymmetric spindle positioning, asymmetric oocyte division and polar body extrusion during female germ cell meiosis (By similarity). Actin-binding protein that is involved in actin cytoskeleton assembly and reorganization. Acts as an actin nucleation factor and promotes assembly of actin filaments together with SPIRE1 and SPIRE2. Involved in intracellular vesicle transport along actin fibers, providing a novel link between actin cytoskeleton dynamics and intracellular transport. Plays a role in responses to DNA damage, cellular stress and hypoxia by protecting CDKN1A against degradation, and thereby plays a role in stress-induced cell cycle arrest. Protects cells against apoptosis by protecting CDKN1A against degradation.

Subunit Structure: Interacts with SPIRE1. Binds actin. Interacts with CDKN1A.

Similarity: Belongs to the formin homology family. Cappuccino subfamily.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the formin homology protein family. The encoded protein is thought to have essential roles in organization of the actin cytoskeleton and in cell polarity. This protein mediates the formation of an actin mesh that positions the spindle during oogenesis and also regulates the formation of actin filaments in the nucleus. This protein also forms a perinuclear actin/focal-adhesion system that regulates the shape and position of the nucleus during cell migration. Mutations in this gene have been associated with infertility and also with an autosomal recessive form of intellectual disability (MRT47). Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2017]

Product Notes

The FMN2 fmn2 (Catalog #AAA9611768) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FMN2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse Predicted: Rabbit and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FMN2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FMN2 fmn2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FMN2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
