DAPK2 blocking peptide

DAPK2 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
DAPK2; DRP1; DRP-1
Synonyms
DAPK2; DAPK2 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide; Death-associated protein kinase 2; DAP kinase 2; DAP-kinase-related protein 1; DRP-1; DAPK2 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of humanPK2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
370
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm. Cytoplasmic vesicle, autophagosome lumen
Tissue Location
Isoform 2 is expressed in embryonic stem cells (at protein level). Isoform 1 is ubiquitously expressed in all tissue types examined with high levels in heart, lung and skeletal muscle. It is expressed abundantly in cells differentiated toward granulocytes and low in undifferentiated, normal and leukemic hematopoietic cells and monocytes/macrophages
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for DAPK2 blocking peptide
Calcium/calmodulin-dependent serine/threonine kinase involved in multiple cellular signaling pathways that trigger cell survival, apoptosis, and autophagy. Regulates both type I apoptotic and type II autophagic cell deaths signal, depending on the cellular setting. The former is caspase-dependent, while the latter is caspase-independent and is characterized by the accumulation of autophagic vesicles. Acts as a mediator of anoikis and a suppressor of beta-catenin-dependent anchorage-independent growth of malignant epithelial cells. May play a role in granulocytic maturation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinase family. This protein contains a N-terminal protein kinase domain followed by a conserved calmodulin-binding domain with significant similarity to that of death-associated protein kinase 1 (DAPK1), a positive regulator of programmed cell death. Overexpression of this gene was shown to induce cell apoptosis. It uses multiple polyadenylation sites. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DAPK2: an ubiquitously expressed protein kinase of the DAPK family. Activated by Ca(2+)/calmodulin. Contains a N-terminal protein kinase domain followed by a conserved calmodulin-binding domain. Overexpression induces apoptosis. Expressed at high levels in heart, lung and skeletal muscle.

Product Notes

The DAPK2 dapk2 (Catalog #AAA9226684) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DAPK2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
