KIF16B blocking peptide

KIF16b Antibody Blocking peptide

Gene Names
KIF16B; SNX23; C20orf23; KISC20ORF
Synonyms
KIF16b; KIF16b Antibody Blocking peptide; Kinesin-like protein KIF16B; Sorting nexin-23; KIF16B; C20orf23; KIAA1590; SNX23; KIF16B blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the KIF16b protein. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
1317
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Early endosome membrane. Note: It is unclear whether association with endosomes is mediated via phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PtdIns(3)P)-binding or via its interaction with RAB14
Tissue Location
Primarily expressed in brain. Also present in kidney, liver, intestine, placenta, leukocytes, heart and skeletal muscle (at protein level).
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for KIF16B blocking peptide
Plus end-directed microtubule-dependent motor protein involved in endosome transport and receptor recycling and degradation. Regulates the plus end motility of early endosomes and the balance between recycling and degradation of receptors such as EGF receptor (EGFR) and FGF receptor (FGFR). Regulates the Golgi to endosome transport of FGFR-containing vesicles during early development, a key process for developing basement membrane and epiblast and primitive endoderm lineages during early postimplantation development.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a kinesin-like protein that may be involved in intracellular trafficking. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Uniprot Description

KIF16B: Plus end-directed microtubule-dependent motor protein involved in endosome transport and receptor recycling and degradation. Belongs to the kinesin-like protein family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The KIF16B kif16b (Catalog #AAA9221301) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KIF16b, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
