Related Product Information for TNFSF13 recombinant protein
Background: TNFSF13 is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. It is a ligand for TNFRSF17/BCMA. TNFSF13 is lowly expressed in normal tissues, but is elevated in several types of tumors and transformed cell lines. It is important for B cell development. TNFSF13 may also play a role in T-independent type II antigen responses and T cell survival, and induce proliferation/survival of non lymphoid cells. It exists as a functional homotrimer. It can bind to two cell surface receptors, BCMA and TACI, which it shares with BAFF to exert downstream T- and B-cell regulatory effects. TNFSF13 also has been demonstrated to bind to proteoglycans on the cell surface.

Uniprot Description

TNFSF13: Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF13B/TACI and to TNFRSF17/BCMA. May be implicated in the regulation of tumor cell growth. May be involved in monocyte/macrophage-mediated immunological processes. Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytokine

Cellular Component: extracellular space; membrane; cytoplasm; extracellular region; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: cytokine activity; tumor necrosis factor receptor binding

Biological Process: regulation of immune response; immune system process; immunoglobulin production in mucosal tissue; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of germinal center formation; immune response; immunoglobulin mediated immune response; positive regulation of isotype switching to IgA isotypes

Product Notes

The TNFSF13 tnfsf13 (Catalog #AAA8123063) is a Recombinant Protein produced from HEK293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Ala96-Leu2 40. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "APRIL/TNFSF13, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
