Related Product Information for anti-DES antibody
The cohesin loading factor, nipped-B-like protein (NIPBL), is also known as the sister chromatid cohesion 2 (SCC2) human homolog, is a cohesin loading factor which is essential for deposition of cohesin onto the sister chromatid. Recent studies have shown that NIPBL contributes to sister chromatid cohesion and plays a critical role in development, DNA repair, and gene regulation. Downregulation of NIPBL arrested cells in the G0/G1 phase of the cell cycle and induced apoptosis and autophagy of breast cancer cells through the caspase3 and mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathways. NCBI Description

This gene encodes a muscle-specific class III intermediate filament. Homopolymers of this protein form a stable intracytoplasmic filamentous network connecting myofibrils to each other and to the plasma membrane and are essential for maintaining the strength and integrity of skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle fibers. Mutations in this gene affect assembly of intermediate filaments. Mice lacking this gene are able to develop and reproduce but exhibit abnormal muscle fibers. Mutations in the human gene are associated with myofibrillar myopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, neurogenic scapuloperoneal syndrome and autosomal recessive limb-girdle muscular dystrophy, type 2R. Uniprot Description

Desmin are class-III intermediate filaments found in muscle cells. In adult striated muscle they form a fibrous network connecting myofibrils to each other and to the plasma membrane from the periphery of the Z-line structures (PubMed:25394388). May act as a sarcomeric microtubule-anchoring protein: specifically associates with detyrosinated tubulin-alpha chains, leading to buckled microtubules and mechanical resistance to contraction (PubMed:27102488).

Product Notes

The DES des (Catalog #AAA8103367) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Desmin Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Desmin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). IHC-P: 1:200-1:1000 ICC/IF: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DES des for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Desmin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
