Related Product Information for Grm3 peptide
Metabotropic glutamate receptors have been classified into three groups. In general, class I receptors (mGluR1 and mGluR5) mediate the excitation of neurons, whereas activation of class II (mGluR2 and mGluR3) and class III (mGluR4a, mGluR7a, mGluR7b and mGluR8) results in a depression of synaptic transmission. Class I mGluRs are localized in the postsynaptic membrane and are positively coupled to phospholipase C (PLC). Class II and class III mGluRs localized to the presynaptic membrane and are negatively coupled to adenylate cyclase. It has been speculated that mGluR2 and/or mGluR3 may play a role in the modulation of the mossy terminal function.

Uniprot Description

Function: G-protein coupled receptor for glutamate. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors. Signaling inhibits adenylate cyclase activity.

Subunit structure: Interacts with GRASP

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 3 family.

Product Notes

The Grm3 grm3 (Catalog #AAA658439) is a Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's mGluR2,3 peptide can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Grm3 grm3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "mGluR2,3 peptide, Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
