98% by RP-HPLC, FPLC, or reducing/non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stain. Chromatographically purified. Endotoxin: < 0.1ng/ug (IEU/ug)
Synonyms
Lymphotactin; Recombinant; Human (Small Inducible Cytokine Subfamily C Member 1; SCYC1; Chemokine C Motif Ligand 1; Ltn); XCL1 active protein
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Recombinant, human (E Coli)
Purity/Purification
Highly Purified
98% by RP-HPLC, FPLC, or reducing/non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stain. Chromatographically purified. Endotoxin: < 0.1ng/ug (IEU/ug)
Form/Format
Supplied as a lyophilized powder. No additives. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, 0.1% BSA or HSA to a concentration of 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Sequence
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Gln-Ser-Glu-Val-Ser.
Biological Activity
Lymphotactin is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The Biological activity is calculated by its ability to chemoattract human T cells at 10.0-100.0ng/ml..
Protein Content
Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:
1. UV spectroscopy at 280nm.
2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a calibrated solution of Lymphotactin as a Reference Standard.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile ddH2O, 0.1% BSA or HSA, aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for XCL1 active protein
Chemokine (C motif) ligand (XCL1) is a small cytokine belonging to the XC chemokine family that is also known as lymphotactin. It is found in high levels in spleen, thymus, intestine and peripheral blood leukocytes, and at lower levels in lung, prostate gland and ovary. Cellular sources for XCL1 include activated thymic and peripheral blood CD8+ T cells. This chemokine attracts T cells. In humans, XCL1 is closely related to another chemokine called XCL2, whose gene is found at the same locus on chromosome 1. XCL1 induces its chemotactic function by binding to a chemokine receptor called XCR1.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the chemokine superfamily. Chemokines function in inflammatory and immunological responses, inducing leukocyte migration and activation. The encoded protein is a member of the C-chemokine subfamily, retaining only two of four cysteines conserved in other chemokines, and is thought to be specifically chemotactic for T cells. This gene and a closely related family member are located on the long arm of chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

Function: Chemotactic activity for lymphocytes but not for monocytes or neutrophils.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Tissue specificity: Highest level in spleen, lower in peripheral leukocytes and very low levels in lung, colon and small intestine.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the intercrine gamma family.

Product Notes

The XCL1 xcl1 (Catalog #AAA650875) is an Active Protein produced from Recombinant, human (E Coli) and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Gln-Ser-Gl u-Val-Ser. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lymphotactin, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
