Related Product Information for anti-QTRT1 antibody
tRNA-guanine transglycosylase (TGT; EC 2.4.2.29) synthesizes queuosine (Q), which is found in tRNAs that recognize NAU and NAC codons, encoding tyr, asn, asp, and his. Prokaryotic TGT is a single protein of 43 kD. In contrast, mammalian TGT appears to be a heterodimer consisting of a 60-kD subunit (USP14; MIM 607274) and a 43-kD catalytic subunit (QTRT1) (Deshpande and Katze, 2001 [PubMed 11255023]).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the catalytic subunit of tRNA-guanine transglycosylase. tRNA-guanine transglycosylase is a heterodimeric enzyme complex that plays a critical role in tRNA modification by synthesizing the 7-deazaguanosine queuosine, which is found in tRNAs that code for asparagine, aspartic acid, histidine and tyrosine. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]

Uniprot Description

Function: Interacts with QTRTD1 to form an active queuine tRNA-ribosyltransferase. This enzyme exchanges queuine for the guanine at the wobble position of tRNAs with GUN anticodons (tRNA-Asp, -Asn, -His and -Tyr), thereby forming the hypermodified nucleoside queuosine (Q) (7-(((4,5-cis-dihydroxy-2-cyclopenten-1-yl)amino)methyl)-7-deazaguanosine)

By similarity.

Catalytic activity: Guanine34 in tRNA + queuine = queuosine34 in tRNA + guanine.

Cofactor: Binds 1 zinc ion per subunit

By similarity.

Pathway: tRNA modification; tRNA-queuosine biosynthesis.

Subunit structure: Interacts with QTRTD1

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Cytoplasm

By similarity. Mitochondrion

By similarity. Nucleus

By similarity. Note: Weakly associates with mitochondria, possibly via QTRTD1

By similarity.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the queuine tRNA-ribosyltransferase family.

Sequence caution: The sequence AAH15350.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation.

Product Notes

The QTRT1 qtrt1 (Catalog #AAA647000) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The QTRT1, CT (QTRT1, TGT, TGUT, Queuine tRNA-ribosyltransferase, Guanine insertion enzyme, tRNA-guanine transglycosylase) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's QTRT1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the QTRT1 qtrt1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "QTRT1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
