NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a protein with an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain and a C-terminal coiled-coil region. The protein interacts with trio, which is involved with neural tissue development and controlling actin cytoskeleton organization, cell motility and cell growth. The protein also associates with F-actin and stabilizes F-actin structures. Mutations in this gene have been associated with a form of autosomal recessive nonsyndromic deafness. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that would encode different isoforms have been found for this gene, however some transcripts may be subject to nonsense-mediated decay (NMD). Uniprot Description
Tara: May regulate actin cytoskeletal organization, cell spreading and cell contraction by directly binding and stabilizing filamentous F-actin. The localized formation of TARA and TRIO complexes coordinates the amount of F-actin present in stress fibers. May also serve as a linker protein to recruit proteins required for F-actin formation and turnover. Defects in TRIOBP are the cause of deafness autosomal recessive type 28 (DFNB28). 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The TRIOBP triobp (Catalog #AAA6441772) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TRIOBP (TRIO and F-actin Binding Protein, TARA, DFNB28, dJ37E16.4, HRIHFB2122) (MaxLight 650) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TRIOBP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). IF: 1:50-1:100 WB: 1:500-1:2000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRIOBP triobp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRIOBP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
