Host: Rabbit
Source: Rat
Reactivity
Rat
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
The 10aa rat control peptide is 100% conserved in both rat OAT-K1 (669 aa) and OAT-K2 (498 aa). Therefore, this antibody will detect both OAT-K1 and K2. No significant sequence homology is detected with other OATs. The control peptide is available to confirm specificity of antibodies.

Neat serum, 0.1% sodium azide
Applicable Applications for anti-Organic Anion Transporter K1/K2 antibody
ELISA, Western Blot
Application Notes
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting. Other applications not tested.
Dilution: Western Blotting: 1:1000-1:5000 (ECL)
ELISA: 1:10,000-1:50,000 (control peptide can be used to coat ELISA plates at 1 ug/ml)
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Immunogen
10 aa peptide sequence near the cytoplasmic, C-terminus of rat OAT-K2, conjugated to KLH.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-Organic Anion Transporter K1/K2 antibody
Mammalian kidney and liver are critical in maintaining physiological ionic environment. Kidney specializes in removing toxins, drugs, and other organic anions from the blood by a process called "renal secretion". Besides kidney, anionic substrates are also transported in other organs, e.g., choroid plexus, eye, airway, and placenta. Several multispecific OATs (OAT1-3, OAT-K1 and OATK2) and OATPs (organic anion transporting polypeptides; oatp1-3), have been cloned and characterized from various tissues. OATPs family of proteins are very similar in sequence and secondary protein structure (up to 12 transmembrane domains with cytoplasmic N and C-terminus).

Product Notes

The Organic Anion Transporter K1/K2 (Catalog #AAA614196) is an Antibody produced from Host: Rabbit Source: Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti - Organic Anion Transporter K1/K2 (OAT K1/K2) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Organic Anion Transporter K1/K2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA, Western Blot. Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting. Other applications not tested. Dilution: Western Blotting: 1:1000-1:5000 (ECL) ELISA: 1:10,000-1:50,000 (control peptide can be used to coat ELISA plates at 1 ug/ml) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Organic Anion Transporter K1/K2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Organic Anion Transporter K1/K2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
