Related Product Information for anti-PAFAH1B3 antibody
Cytosolic PAFAH IB is formed of three subunits, alpha (45kD), beta (30kD) and gamma (29kD). The catalytic activity of PAFAH IB resides in the beta and gamma subunits while the alpha subunit has regulatory activity. Trimer formation is not essential for the catalytic activity. Specifically, PAFAH subunit gamma inactivates platelet-activating factor by removing the acetyl group at the sn-2 position. It plays an important role during the development of the brain. In the adult, it is expressed in brain, skeletal muscle, kidney, thymus, spleen, colon, testis, ovary and peripheral blood leukocytes. In the fetus, highest expression occurs in the brain.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an acetylhydrolase that catalyzes the removal of an acetyl group from the glycerol backbone of platelet-activating factor. The encoded enzyme is a subunit of the platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase isoform 1B complex, which consists of the catalytic beta and gamma subunits and the regulatory alpha subunit. This complex functions in brain development. A translocation between this gene on chromosome 19 and the CDC-like kinase 2 gene on chromosome 1 has been observed, and was associated with mental retardation, ataxia, and atrophy of the brain. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. [provided by RefSeq]

Product Notes

The PAFAH1B3 pafah1b3 (Catalog #AAA606245) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Platelet-activating Factor Acetylhydrolase IB Subunit gamma (PAF Acetylhydrolase 29kD Subunit, PAF-AH 29kD Subunit, PAFAHG, PAFAH gamma Subunit, Platelet-activating Factor Acetylhydrolase IB gamma Subunit) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Platelet-activating Factor Acetylhydrolase IB Subunit gamma can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and ELISA. Dilution: Immunoflorescence: 25ug/ml ELISA: Direct or sandwich. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PAFAH1B3 pafah1b3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Platelet-activating Factor Acetylhydrolase IB Subunit gamma, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
