Testing Data (Diagram of Domain Structure: Generated from sequence of yeast Nsr1p with the SMART program from EMBL in Heidleberg. The first block from the left is a glutamic acid rich region predicted by SMART to encode a region of a-helical coiled coil, though this is likely to be an artifact of the algorithm used. The blocks marked "RRM" indicate two RRM RNA binding domains, each about 70 amino acids long. RRM stands for "RNA recognition motif" and the domain, found in many eukaryotic proteins which bind single stranded RNAs, is also known as the putative RNA-binding region RNP-1 signature. The final block is a region of low sequence complexity, in this case rich in arginine and glycine residues Scale is number of amino acids.)

Related Product Information for anti-NSR1 antibody
Nsr1p is localized in the nucleolus and binds to telomeric single-stranded oligonucleotide repeat sequence of the type and binds to the single-stranded telomeric repeat sequence (TG1-3)n. It has a role in ribosomal RNA maturation and possibly in transport of proteins into the nucleus.

Uniprot Description

Function: Involved in pre-rRNA processing. Specifically binds nuclear localization sequences. Candidate for a receptor at the nucleus that may be involved in both RNA and protein transport. Binds telomeric sequences of the type (TG[1-3])n in vitro.

Subcellular location: Nucleus › nucleolus Ref.8.

Induction: In response to low temperature (By cold-shock).

Post-translational modification: Methylated by HMT1, forming asymmetric dimethylarginines (DMA) within a domain referred to as an RGG box, made up of repeated Gly-Gly dipeptides interspersed with Arg and aromatic residues. Ref.8

Miscellaneous: Present with 77400 molecules/cell in log phase SD medium.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the RRM GAR family.Contains 2 RRM (RNA recognition motif) domains.

Product Notes

The NSR1 nsr1 (Catalog #AAA6005395) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Nsr1p can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Dilution: Immunofluorescence: For yeast cells, try diluted 1:500-1:5000. Western Blot: For yeast protein samples (cell and nuclear lysates), try diluted 1:10,000, followed by chemiluminescent detection (ECL). For non-ECL Western detection methods, try diluted 1:1000-1:5000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NSR1 nsr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nsr1p, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
