Related Product Information for IL3RA active protein
CD123 is an α subunit of a heterodimer IL-3 receptor, a member of the cytokine receptor superfamily. It is a 70 kDa protein, which binds IL-3 with high specificity but with low affinity. CD123 is encoded by the IL-3a gene, located in the pseudo-autosomal region (PAR) at the ends of the short arms of the X and Y chromosomes, B-lymphoid blasts from acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) have been shown to express functional CD123 and CD40 ligand stimulates proliferation of precursor-B (pre-B) ALL by upregulating CD123 expression.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is an interleukin 3 specific subunit of a heterodimeric cytokine receptor. The receptor is comprised of a ligand specific alpha subunit and a signal transducing beta subunit shared by the receptors for interleukin 3 (IL3), colony stimulating factor 2 (CSF2/GM-CSF), and interleukin 5 (IL5). The binding of this protein to IL3 depends on the beta subunit. The beta subunit is activated by the ligand binding, and is required for the biological activities of IL3. This gene and the gene encoding the colony stimulating factor 2 receptor alpha chain (CSF2RA) form a cytokine receptor gene cluster in a X-Y pseudoautosomal region on chromosomes X or Y. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2012]

Uniprot Description

IL3RA: This is a receptor for interleukin-3. Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 5 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xp22.3 or Yp11.3

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: interleukin-3 receptor activity

Product Notes

The IL3RA il3ra (Catalog #AAA553344) is an Active Protein produced from HEk293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-3 receptor (CD123), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
