Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed) (0.25-0.5ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT) (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. It is found in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells. This gene product is a precursor to three biologically active peptides; vasostatin, pancreastatin, and parastatin. These peptides act as autocrine or paracrine negative modulators of the neuroendocrine system. Two other peptides, catestatin and chromofungin, have antimicrobial activity and antifungal activity, respectively. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Uniprot Description
CHGA: a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. It is found in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells and is a precursor to multiple biologically active peptides including vasostatin, pancreastatin, and chromostatin. Binds calcium with a low-affinity. Vasostatin negatively regulates angiogenesis and has antibacterial activity against some Gram-positive bacteria. Pancreastatin inhibits glucose induced insulin release from the pancreas. Chromostatin inhibits catecholamine release from chromaffin cells.

Product Notes
The CHGA chga (Catalog #AAA438168) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Chromogranin A / CHGA (Neuroendocrine Marker) Mouse Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Monkey, Pig, Mouse, Rat. Does not react with Guinea Pig, Sheep and Rabbit and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Chromogranin A / CHGA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin. Flow Cytometry (0.5-1ug/million cells in 0.1ml) Immunofluorescence (0.5-1ug/ml) Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed) (0.25-0.5ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT) (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CHGA chga for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Chromogranin A / CHGA, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
