Related Product Information for anti-Kv2.2 antibody
Voltage-gated K+ channel subfamily B member 2, KCNB2, CDRK Kv2.2 is a member of the voltage-gated K+ channel superfamily. Together with the closely related Kv2.1 protein they form the Kv2 subfamily also known as Shab. As with all Kv channels, Kv2.2 possesses the signature structure of the voltage-dependent K+ channels: six membrane-spanning domains with intracellular N and C termini. The functional Kv channel is a tetramer that can either be a homotetramer or a heteromer of Kv2.2 and Kv2.1 subunits. Both Kv2.2 and Kv2.1 channels are known as delayed rectifiers that is, channels that are activated by changes in membrane potential (depolarization) but inactivate very slowly. The current they form is known as IK or IDR. Accessory subunits such as KChaP and the electrically silent a subunits Kv8 and Kv9 can modulate biochemical and biophysical properties of Kv2.2. Kv2.2 is expressed in the brain and in peripheral tissues such as gastrointestinal and vascular smooth muscle. Physiologically, Kv2.2 has a role in maintaining membrane potential and in modulating electrical excitability in neurons. In smooth muscle cells, Kv2.2 is probably involved in maintaining the contractile capacity of the cells.

Product Notes

The Kv2.2 (Catalog #AAA4159199) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Kv2.2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Kv2.2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: Rat brain lysate (1:1000-1:2000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Kv2.2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Kv2.2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
