Mouse Calcium/Calmodulin Dependent Protein Kinase II Alpha (CAMK2a) ELISA Kit
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Calcium/Calmodulin Dependent Protein Kinase II Alpha (CAMK2a) and analogues was observed.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The product of this gene belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinases family, and to the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinases subfamily. Calcium signaling is crucial for several aspects of plasticity at glutamatergic synapses. This calcium calmodulin-dependent protein kinase is composed of four different chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The alpha chain encoded by this gene is required for hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP) and spatial learning. In addition to its calcium-calmodulin (CaM)-dependent activity, this protein can undergo autophosphorylation, resulting in CaM-independent activity. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2008]
Uniprot Description
CAMK2A: a protein kinase of the CAMK2 family. A prominent kinase in the central nervous system that may function in long-term potentiation and neurotransmitter release. Member of the NMDAR signaling complex in excitatory synapses that may regulate NMDAR-dependent potentiation of the AMPAR and synaptic plasticity. The holoenzyme is composed of four different chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The different chains assemble into homo- or heteromultimeric holoenzymes composed of 8 to 12 subunits. May interact with BAALC, MPDZ, SYN1 and synGAP. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Mouse CAMK2a camk2a (Catalog #AAA2705050) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2705050 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse CAMK2a. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Calcium/Calmodulin Dependent Protein Kinase II Alpha (CAMK2a), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
