Related Product Information for LSAMP recombinant protein
Protein Construction: Recombinant Human Limbic system-associated membrane protein is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Val29-Asn315 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus.

Background: Limbic system-associated membrane protein is also known as LSAMP, IgLON family member 3. In humans, it is encoded by the LSAMP gene. It belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and contains 3 Ig-like C2-type domains. Limbic system-associated membrane protein mediates selective neuronal growth and axon targeting. It contributes to the guidance of developing axons and remodeling of mature circuits in the limbic system. It is also essential for normal growth of the hyppocampal mossy fiber projection

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the immunoglobulin LAMP, OBCAM and neurotrimin (IgLON) family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate a neuronal surface glycoprotein. This protein may act as a selective homophilic adhesion molecule during axon guidance and neuronal growth in the developing limbic system. The encoded protein may also function as a tumor suppressor and may play a role in neuropsychiatric disorders. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]

Uniprot Description

Mediates selective neuronal growth and axon targeting. Contributes to the guidance of developing axons and remodeling of mature circuits in the limbic system. Essential for normal growth of the hyppocampal mossy fiber projection ().

Product Notes

The LSAMP lsamp (Catalog #AAA2556645) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Limbic System-Associated Membrane, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
