Related Product Information for DPP1 recombinant protein
Dipeptidase 1 (DPEP1) is a kidney membrane enzyme that belongs to the peptidase M19 family. DPEP1 is a homodimer and is inhibited by L-penicillamine. DPEP1 hydrolyzes a variety of dipeptides and is implicated in renal metabolism of glutathione and its conjugates. DPEP1 is responsible for hydrolysis of the beta-lactam ring of antibiotics, such as penem and carbapenem. DPEP1 may play an important role in the regulation of leukotriene activity. DPEP1 expression in cancer is significantly higher than that in normal tissue. However, DPEP1 expression decreased with pathological differentiation, lymph-node and distant metastasis.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a kidney membrane enzyme involved in the metabolism of glutathione and other similar proteins by dipeptide hydrolysis. The encoded protein is known to regulate leukotriene activity by catalyzing the conversion of leukotriene D4 to leukotriene E4. This protein uses zinc as a cofactor and acts as a disulfide-linked homodimer. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]

Uniprot Description

Hydrolyzes a wide range of dipeptides. Implicated in the renal metabolism of glutathione and its conjugates. Converts leukotriene D4 to leukotriene E4; it may play an important role in the regulation of leukotriene activity.

Product Notes

The DPP1 dpep1 (Catalog #AAA2552596) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Asp17-Ser385. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dipeptidyl-Peptidase 1/DPP1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
