Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Sheep
Reactivity
Marmoset, Rhesus Monkey
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This item recognises human indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO), an enzyme that is responsible for converting tryptophan to kynurenines. IDO is expressed by a wide variety of tissues and IDO can be upregulated by interferon gamma. IDO modulates levels of the amino acid tryptophan, which is vital for cell growth, but is also involved in the suppression of the immune response. Reports suggest that IDO is involved in the suppression of the immune response to tumours and blocking the IDO pathway may be a potential target for immunotherapy.

Immunogen
Recombinant human indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase.
Buffer Solution
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human indoleamine dioxygenase (IDO) were raised by repeated immunisation of sheep with highly purified antigen. Ig fraction prepared by ammonium sulphate precipitation.
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) - a heme enzyme that catalyzes the first and rate-limiting step in tryptophan catabolism to N-formyl-kynurenine. This enzyme acts on multiple tryptophan substrates including D-tryptophan, L-tryptophan, 5-hydroxy-tryptophan, tryptamine, and serotonin. This enzyme is thought to play a role in a variety of pathophysiological processes such as antimicrobial and antitumor defense, neuropathology, immunoregulation, and antioxidant activity. Through its expression in dendritic cells, monocytes, and macrophages this enzyme modulates T-cell behavior by its peri-cellular catabolization of the essential amino acid tryptophan.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]

Product Notes

The IDO1 ido1 (Catalog #AAA220490) is an Antibody produced from Sheep and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SHEEP ANTI HUMAN INDOLEAMINE 2,3-DIOXYGENASE reacts with Marmoset, Rhesus Monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's INDOLEAMINE 2,3-DIOXYGENASE can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Western Blotting: Maximum Dilution: 1/1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IDO1 ido1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "INDOLEAMINE 2,3-DIOXYGENASE, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
