Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Triple functional domain protein(TRIO) detection. Tested with WB in Human;Mouse;Rat.

Background: Triple functional domain protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TRIO gene. This gene encodes a large protein that functions as a GDP to GTP exchange factor. This protein promotes the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, thereby playing a role in cell migration and growth. Additionally, the TRIO protein contains 3 functional domains: a serine/threonine kinase domain and 2 guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) domains for the family of Rho-like GTPases, specific for Rac1 and RhoA, respectively. These domains suggest that this enzyme may play a key role in several signaling pathways that control cell proliferation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a large protein that functions as a GDP to GTP exchange factor. This protein promotes the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, thereby playing a role in cell migration and growth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]

Uniprot Description

TRIO: Promotes the exchange of GDP by GTP. Together with leukocyte antigen-related (LAR) protein, it could play a role in coordinating cell-matrix and cytoskeletal rearrangements necessary for cell migration and cell growth. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The TRIO trio (Catalog #AAA177816) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-TRIO Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TRIO can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRIO trio for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRIO, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
