Benefits
The Quick ELISA kits, assay takes less than 1.5 hours. Detect Human MBL2/MPB-C with <10pg/ml sensitivity. Format: 96-well plate with removable strips.
This is a TMB colorimetric sandwich ELISA kit with short assay time and quick experiment set up.
Principle
Human MBL2 Pre-Coated ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is a solid phase immunoassay specially designed to measure Human MBL2 in cell culture supernatants, cell lysates, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA). It uses our proprietary Quick ELISA technology. Quick ELISA technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the polyclonal antibody used to coat our Quick ELISA plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. The kit contains recombinant Human MBL2 with immunogen: Expression system for standard: NS0; Immunogen sequence: E21-I248.

To measure Human MBL2, add standards and samples to the wells, then add antibody cocktail. Wash the wells with PBS or TBS buffer, and add TMB. TMB is substrate to HRP and will be catalyzed to produce a blue color product, which changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of the yellow product is linearly proportional to Human MBL2 in the sample. Read the density of the yellow product in each well using a plate reader, and benchmark the sample wells' readings against the standard curve to determine the concentration of Human MBL2 in the sample.
Assay Procedure Step 1

TMB Incubation Time
15
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for 6 months, at -20 degree C for 12 months. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. (Shipped with wet ice.)

Related Product Information for MBL2 elisa kit
MBL2, also called mannose-binding lectin (protein C) 2, soluble or Mannose-binding lectin (MBL) is a lectin that is instrumental in innate immunity. MBL2 is mapped to chromosome 10q11. 2-q21. It belongs to the class of collectins in the C-type lectin superfamily, whose function appears to be pattern recognition in the first line of defense in the pre-immune host. MBL2 recognizes carbohydrate patterns, found on the surface of a large number of pathogenic micro-organisms, including bacteria, viruses, protozoa and fungi. Binding MBL2 to a micro-organism results in activation of the lectin pathway of the complement system. Another important function of MBL2 is that this molecule binds senescent and apoptotic cells and enhances engulfment of whole, intact apoptotic cells, as well as cell debris by phagocytes.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the soluble mannose-binding lectin or mannose-binding protein found in serum. The protein encoded belongs to the collectin family and is an important element in the innate immune system. The protein recognizes mannose and N-acetylglucosamine on many microorganisms, and is capable of activating the classical complement pathway. Deficiencies of this gene have been associated with susceptibility to autoimmune and infectious diseases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

MBL2: Calcium-dependent lectin involved in innate immune defense. Binds mannose, fucose and N-acetylglucosamine on different microorganisms and activates the lectin complement pathway. Binds to late apoptotic cells, as well as to apoptotic blebs and to necrotic cells, but not to early apoptotic cells, facilitating their uptake by macrophages. May bind DNA.

Product Notes

The Human MBL2 mbl2 (Catalog #AAA1753932) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1753932 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MBL2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MBL2/MPB-C, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
