Beta-glucosidase 21 (BGLU21) Recombinant Protein | BGLU21 recombinant protein
Recombinant Arabidopsis thaliana Beta-glucosidase 21 (BGLU21)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
BGLU21 encodes a beta-glucosidase that has a high level of activity against the naturally occuring secondary metabolite scopolin. Recombinant BGLU21 produced in insect cells shows lower levels of activity using the structurally similar substrates esculin (33%) and 4-MU-glucoside (9%). BGLU21 is glycosylated in planta and has a C-terminal ER retention signal. Transcript analysis as well as protein extraction and western blotting from various plant organs suggest that BGLU21 is only present in roots and seedlings. Transcript levels increase in response to cold, auxin (2,4-D), and methyl jasmonate treatments.
Uniprot Description
Beta-D-glucosidase active on scopolin >> esculin >> 4-MU-glucoside > DIMBOA-glucoside. No activity with pNP-glucoside, oNP-glucoside and sinigrin as substrates.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Beta-glucosidase 21 (BGLU21), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
