Related Product Information for TMPRSS15 recombinant protein
Description: Enterokinase (rEK) Bovine Recombinant is the catalytic subunit of bovine enterokinase, which is expressed by the yeast and purified to yield a high enzyme activity preparation. EK recognizes the sequence Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys and cleaves the peptide bond after the lysine residue. The enzyme can be used to cleave any fusion protein that carries this sequence.Recombinant Bovine Enterokinase is a single glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 235 amino acids and having an MW of ~43kDa.

Introduction: Enteropeptidase or enterokinase is an enzymeinvolved in human digestion. It is produced by cells in the duodenum wall, and is secreted from duodenum's glands, the crypts of Lieberk?hn, whenever ingested food enters the duodenum from the stomach. Enteropeptidase has the critical job of turning trypsinogen(a zymogen) to trypsin, indirectly activating a number of pancreaticdigestive enzymes.Enteropeptidase is a serine proteaseenzyme(EC3.4.21.9). Enteropeptidase is a part of the Chymotrypsin-clan of serine proteases, and is structurally similar to these proteins.

Uniprot Description

Responsible for initiating activation of pancreatic proteolytic proenzymes (trypsin, chymotrypsin and carboxypeptidase A). It catalyzes the conversion of trypsinogen to trypsin which in turn activates other proenzymes including chymotrypsinogen, procarboxypeptidases, and proelastases.

Product Notes

The TMPRSS15 tmprss15 (Catalog #AAA142452) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Pichia Pastoris and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BEnteropeptidase/Enterokinase, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
