Related Product Information for anti-CIB1 antibody
Introduction: CIB1 (Calcium and integrin binding 1) is regulatory protein with 50% homology to calmodulin and calcineurin B, that encodes a member of the calcium-binding protein family. CIB1 interacts with DNA-dependent protein kinase and may play a role in kinase-phosphatase regulation of DNA end joining. Also CIB1 is widely expressed and binds to a number of effectors, such as integrin alphaIIb, PAK1, and polo-like kinases, in different tissues.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the EF-hand domain-containing calcium-binding superfamily. The encoded protein interacts with many other proteins, including the platelet integrin alpha-IIb-beta-3, DNA-dependent protein kinase, presenilin-2, focal adhesion kinase, p21 activated kinase, and protein kinase D. The encoded protein may be involved in cell survival and proliferation, and is associated with several disease states including cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2013]

Uniprot Description

CIB1: May convert the inactive conformation of integrin alpha- IIb/beta3 to an active form through binding to the integrin cytoplasmic domain. Induces cell migration and spreading mediated through integrin (possibly via focal adhesion complexes). Functions as a negative regulator of stress activated MAP kinase (MAPK) signaling pathways. May play a role in regulation of apoptosis. Interacts with and up-regulates PTK2/FAK1 activity. Down regulates inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor-dependent calcium signaling. Participates in endomitotic cell cycle, a form of mitosis in which both karyokinesis and cytokinesis are interrupted and is a hallmark of megakaryocyte differentiation.

Product Notes

The CIB1 cib1 (Catalog #AAA140217) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Calcium and Integrin Binding 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). CIB1 antibody has been tested by ELISA and Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis is 1:1,000 ~ 2,000. Recommended starting dilution is 1:1,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CIB1 cib1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Calcium and Integrin Binding 1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
