Related Product Information for ZBTB17 elisa kit
MIZ1 associates with microtubules, can bind directly to the low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) promoter, and can activate LDLR transcription. MIZ1 also binds to the promoter and activates transcription of other T113242 (a synthetic drug)-induced genes such as alpha-2 integrin.MIZ1 appears to be regulated by association with microtubules and may activate gene transcription in response to changes in the cytoskeleton. The deduced human MIZ1 protein shares 92% sequence identity with the closely related mouse protein Z13. MIZ1 has a potent growth arrest function; HeLa cells expressing recombinant MIZ1 progress into S phase but not into mitosis. MIZ1 can bind to and transactivate the adenovirus major late and cyclin D1 (CCND1) promoters.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate ZBTB17 in samples. An antibody specific for ZBTB17 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyZBTB17 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ZBTB17 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ZBTB17 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Uniprot Description

ZBTB17: a transcription factor that can function as an activator or repressor depending on its binding partners, and by targeting negative regulators of cell cycle progression. Plays a critical role in early lymphocyte development, where it is essential to prevent apoptosis in lymphoid precursors, allowing them to survive in response to IL7 and undergo proper lineage commitment. Has been shown to bind to the promoters of adenovirus major late protein and cyclin D1 and activate transcription. Required for early embryonic development during gastrulation. Represses RB1 transcription; this repression can be blocked by interaction with ZBTB49 isoform 3/ZNF509S1. Belongs to the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. Binds to the C-terminal helix-loop-helix motif of MYC which inhibits ZBTB17 transactivation and growth arrest activities and renders it insoluble in the nucleus. Also interacts with HCFC1, MAGEA4 and TMPRSS11A. Three isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Mouse ZBTB17 zbtb17 (Catalog #AAA281321) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA281321 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse ZBTB17. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Zinc finger and BTB domain-containing protein 17, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
