Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 51 (USP51) contains the Zn-finger ZnF-UBP domain and belongs to a subfamily of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs)(1). USP51 regulates DNA damage response through deubiquitylating histone H2A Lys 13,15ub at the DNA double-strand breaks (2). USP51 deubiquitinates and stabilizes ZEB1 to regulate cell invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition in the breast cancer cells and is overexpressed in breast cancer patients and associated to poor survival (3).
